THE KISS OF LIFE
With head in the clouds and heart in the basement
A well fed militia to turn off the lights
He has terrified mothers with kids born to displacement
But a dollar stuffed pillow prevents sleepless nights
The all knowing God smiled down on the slaughter
The fretting servant would do right by his lord
Soul blind in faith, he killed his own daughter
Then washed his hands and honour was restored
The boys and girls at the whim of an urge see
The female bruise prepare food for the caprice
With muscles flexed and the benefit of clergy
Luxury fever enthrals his release
The dawn chorus sings to wake him in the summertime
The autumn leaves fall humbly to spell out his name
The warm embrace of the flames at his winter fireside
The blessing of yore and the kiss of spring rain
And as the son throws bricks at firefighters
Cut to the dad assaulting ambulance crew
The family's minds eye has conjunctivitis
The male strand needs something violent to do
