IDIOT STRENGTH
The tables are turned now there's other wheels in motion
A dose of your own is always sugar-coated
My fingers are burned but it's not a test of strength
I see you fall back on fear
Look for something that you understand
The shoe's on the other foot and those words seem so throwaway
A claim to what is right, for me, is always out of reach
The glove's on the other fist and the rules are re-unwritten
I just lie in wait of the day
Lie in wait of the day you'll try to understand what I mean
Maybe it's more than words, or my words aren't up to scratch?
But this method of communication always seems to hit me back
And there's a strange hand on the wheel
I feel a new script on the cards
Control and understanding are just two things I seem to lack
And now the tables are turned and there's other wheels in motion
The other man's humour is always hard to swallow
My energy's burned but my capacity remains intact
I lie in wait of the day
Just lie in wait of the day you'll try to understand what I mean
